We just can't believe it! Our sweet baby is 5 months old today!!
such a cutie :)
He is hands down the happiest baby I have ever seen. Crying is a very rare thing around our house. Of course there is the usual hungry or tired cry but that's about all the crying that Brent and I hear. He has become quite the talker! LOTS of ooo's, maaaa's, and ahhhhh's. He is into blowing bubbles and squealing while he talks too. He tolerates tummy time now and has become quite good at trying to scoot forward. He has mastered rolling over on his side( he even sleeps that way at night ). And he can roll over from his tummy to his back but not from his back to his tummy yet. He can almost sit up by himself...almost. I'd say he will have that down in the next week or 2.
so serious!
We don't go back to the doctor till his 6 month check up but I was curious yesterday to see how much he weighed and our scale says 16 pounds. I, of course, don't know the ounces and who knows if our scale reads the same as the one at the doctor's office but that gives us an idea. Maybe he will be 17 or 18 pounds by the end of April?! He still loves his books. Loves reading them and especially loves holding them while we are reading them now. His favorite books are probably the ones with pictures of animals in them and ones that are brightly colored. We read a lot of books everyday( mom, you should be proud of your little lover of books! ).

His grip is incredibly strong! If he grabs a hold of your arm, he will usually pinch you and hold on tight! Sometimes it doesn't feel very good :) But with that strong grip he can hold onto his toys. He loves his crunchy toys and ones that rattle when he shakes them. He is also loving to chew on everything and I mean everything. If you hand him something, it usually goes straight to his mouth. He does not take a paci but prefers his fingers. He has always been that way. We weren't sure if that would change or not. It hasn't! He will however chew on paci's as if they were meant to be chew toys!

We introduced him to cereal last Sunday. If you read that post, you know that he didn't like it very well that first day. He likes it now...no more pitiful faces! He is doing a great job of swallowing most all of it. I have already made it a little bit thicker and he seems to enjoy it a bit more that way. Right now he is eating about 3 Tbsp every night. We will start to introduce him to fruits and veggies when he turns 6 months. Can't wait for that!! My grandparents loaded us up on fruits and veggies from their garden so Row will have lots of things to eat for a good while. My grandmother is a canning queen so she canned Rowen all kinds of yummy things.
Silly boy
He loves studying new things for a minute or two. For instance, we have flowers out on our balcony now and last week was the first time he saw them. He starred at them for a good 60 seconds before looking away. He will do that to everything he sees for the first time. I think he is getting use to some of the other family members now. He is pretty much happy with anyone who wants to talk to him though :) He is sleeping good in his crib...10-11 hours each night. Although, a few times in the past couple weeks I have had to go in and move him back towards the middle. He is a wiggler in his sleep and sometimes he has an arm or a leg hanging out between the slats( we chose to forgo the bumper pad ). It doesn't hurt him but I hate to see that in the monitor and not go help him out ;) and it doesn't wake him up when I move him back to the middle of his crib.
We love you sweet boy and can't imagine life without you!!
